Respect the lines
Before you put that shovel into the ground for your next project, stay safe and remember to contact 811 at least three business days prior to digging. Once your utilities are marked, be sure to respect the markings by using caution and digging with hand tools within 18 inches of the marked utility lines.

Leave the area immediately
If you're inside, get out immediately. If you're outside, leave the area quickly.
Call 911 and us
From a safe location, away from the building, call 911 and our emergency number at 1-888-460-4332 (24/7) and wait for crews to arrive.
When it is safe, also contact 811 to report the damage.
